i would like to share some updates about our latin america operations.
as discussed in our last town hall, we are sharpening our focus on long-term sustainability and profitability.
overall, our global business is healthy. however, in light of the current elevated macro uncertainty, it is important to be prudent. this means focusing our resources on our core operations, and optimising for the long term.
we did a review of our global business priorities, and will be making the following adjustments to parts of our latin america operations to strengthen our operational efficiency.
for shopee mexico, colombia, and chile, we will concentrate on a cross-border model.
we will cease our shopee argentina operations.
shopee brazil is operating as usual.
these changes will impact our local teams in mexico, colombia, chile, and argentina. we are working with affected team members to support them through this difficult period. on behalf of the management team, i would like to thank all of them for their contribution to shopee.
i understand this is not an easy time for many of us, but the changes we are making will position us better for long-term success. as we continue to review our business priorities, we will keep you updated on any developments.
